en quelques mots
US born and bred, renowned worldwide - Robbie Rivera is a DJ, Producer and Label Manager respected across the house music globe.
Last year, Robbie began with a nomination for Best Breakthrough DJ in the US as well as being voted Best House Music Remixer by Remix magazine in the US . 2004 began no differently with Robbie being nominated for Best Producer by dance music’s version of the Oscars – the Dancestar Awards. Following early releases on Subliminal, Filtered and a host of other key dance labels a few years back, Robbie Rivera has since been inundated with offers and has worked with, and had tracks released on labels that include Defected, Serious, Azuli, Duty Free, Positiva, Ministry of Sound, Credence, Echo, Virgin, Atlantic, Strictly Rhythm, Multiply, Tommy Boy, Time, Sony, Mute, Universal .
Robbie Rivera’s conquests thus far also include teaming up with Willie Morales to produce “Sound The Horn” (Filtered Traxx); creating a slamming remix for Benny B’s “Satisfaction” for Ministry of Sound UK and Ultra US; and finally remixes of Lee Cabrera’s “Special”, Ray Roc feat. Tina Arena, Moloko’s “Familiar Feelings” and last but not least Kylie’s “Come Into My World" which racked up a Grammy this year for best dance track.
Robbie’s talent is recognized across the music industry and he is the first port of call for many an artist wanting the Rivera sound on their releases. Remixing a huge range of international artists including Faithless, Felix Da Housecat, Funky Green Dogs, Sonique, RES, Sinead O´Connor , Victoria Beckham, Madonna, Ricky Martin, Santana, Harry Romero, Puretone and Brandy, to name but a few. His latest remix of Pink’s ‘God is a DJ’ has caused a particular storm with huge demand forcing the label to release the track.
With his heart in his Miami based studio, Robbie began his own label ‘Juicy Music’ which teams up with Erick Morillo’s hugely successful Subliminal Records for distribution. Through Juicy, Robbie reflects his individual style and traits to form the sound of Juicy, whilst also giving him the opportunity to work with many of his friends and successful collaborators. A pounding, sexy house feel with a love of melodies and vocals.
The success of Juicy has taken Robbie to producing his very own album ‘Blah Blah Blah’. Hot off the mixing desk, its release in 2004 will coincide with a huge summer tour. Tough, funky and energetic, it’s a refreshing yet a potentially universal sound, ladled with melodic rifts and vocal harmonies.
Many a studio session is inspired through the gigs Robbie plays around the world. Aside from residencies in Miami and New York, the demand for Robbie as a DJ comes from the likes of Ibiza, Barcelona, London, France, Italy, Moscow, Budapest, Berlin, Dublin, and Amsterdam to name a few. 2004 takes Robbie to places as diverse as Glasgow , Hungary , Greece , Blackpool , and Ecuador .
